Issues logging into SketchUp Plugin

Read this article if...

You are able to log into other SketchUp and Sefaira products but you cannot login to the Sefaira SketchUp Plugin.

What's probably happening...

In some instances, SketchUp has some default settings that mean it is trying to open Sefaira in older browser versions (such as Internet Explorer 8) which are no longer supported.

If this is the cause of the problem, this can to be checked and fixed by users with the following steps:

The problem tends to throw the kind of error when you try logging into the Sefaira Plugin:


The error can also be checked by reviewing the registry and seeing which browser version SketchUp is referring to. In the example below, SketchUp is looking for Internet Explorer 8.

The fix

If SketchUp is sending you to an old version of Internet Explorer, then this is likely the cause of the error (if it's sending you to IE 11, then this is probably not why you are having issues).

This issue can be fixed by changing the registry in the 2 places it refers to a browser:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION]
