The sources for the EUI benchmarks are:
- US Residential: 2003 Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS)
- US Office: 2003 Commercial Buildings Energy Consumption Survey (CBECS)
It would be helpful to have these same tables updated for the new "School" usage occupancy that has been added to the plugin since these were first authored. Thank you!
Hi John,
Thanks for the comment - good point! The envelope properties for "School" and "Office" are actually the same, since they are both nonresidential under ASHRAE 90.1. The two spaces do differ for lighting loads, plug loads, and occupancy schedule.
Best,
Katrina
As we have several projects targeting LEED v3, it would be great to have a breakdown of both ASHRAE 90.1-2007, US & Metric.
Should I assume that these values are an average, or weighted average, of the values in 90.1? For example, I understand that mass walls should be 5.7 in zone 2 but the value here is 8.14.
Hello, Greg
As far as I know, The mass wall in zone 2 should be 0.123 (U factor), so 8.14 is the right value.
